About The Position

The Project Manager - Construction role at the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) involves managing the daily work and functions of the Office of the Airport Liaison. This position requires communication with stakeholder airlines on issues affecting them, strategizing and implementing airline relationship needs in collaboration with management staff, and formulating plans for addressing airline issues proactively. The role also involves interacting and coordinating with other CDA workgroups and contractors to facilitate airport operations and future planning, executing and overseeing tasks for daily and long-term airline projects, and maintaining records such as spreadsheets and meeting notes. The Project Manager will present and participate in relevant meetings, handle administrative tasks in partnership with the Airport Liaison, and support the Chief Commercial Officer. This is an exempt position from the career service, requiring candidates to pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA).

Requirements

  • Nine (9) years of work experience in project management or program coordination
  • OR Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree PLUS seven (7) years of project management or program coordination work experience
  • OR Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's PLUS five (5) years of project management or program coordination work experience
  • OR Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher PLUS four (4) years of project management or program coordination work experience
  • Must pass an airport background check.
  • Must pass a Security Threat Assessment (STA).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily work and functions of the Office of the Airport Liaison.
  • Communicate with stakeholder airlines on issues affecting them.
  • Work with management staff on strategizing and implementing airline relationship needs.
  • Formulate plans for optimal and proactive manner of addressing airline issues.
  • Interact and coordinate with other CDA workgroups and contractors to facilitate day-to-day airport operations and future planning.
  • Execute and oversee tasks associated with daily and long-term airline projects in which CDA participates.
  • Maintain spreadsheets, take notes, and prepare agendas for meeting organization.
  • Present and participate in meetings related to the aforementioned tasks.
  • Handle various administrative tasks in partnership with the Airport Liaison.
  • Perform additional duties supporting the Airport Liaison and Chief Commercial Officer.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
