About The Position

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects within a self-perform electrical contractor environment, focused on healthcare and institutional work. This is a hands-on execution role responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, working directly with field teams, GCs, and internal departments. The position supports large, complex projects with strong internal infrastructure including estimating, BIM, and leadership support. This role is critical to driving project execution, maintaining schedules, and ensuring profitability across an active backlog of commercial work.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical project management within an electrical contractor environment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Must have direct project ownership or significant execution responsibility (not purely coordination roles)
  • Commercial electrical experience required (general contractor-only or residential backgrounds will not be considered)

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience managing or supporting electrical projects in the $3M–$15M+ range
  • Experience working on healthcare, hospital, university, or institutional projects
  • Experience with tools such as Bluebeam, AcuBid, or similar estimating/project software

Responsibilities

  • Oversee commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality targets are met
  • Manage field execution by coordinating electricians, foremen, subcontractors, and internal teams across active job sites
  • Interface directly with general contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders to drive timelines and resolve issues
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate execution
  • Manage project schedules, change orders, RFIs, and cost tracking throughout the lifecycle of each project
  • Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams to support takeoffs, scope alignment, and project setup
  • Work closely with BIM teams to translate design intent into field-ready plans and resolve coordination conflicts
  • Monitor project profitability, identify risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on track
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting within internal ERP and project management systems
