About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Capital Projects & Facilities, the Project Manager, Capital Projects & Facilities (12-month Contract) is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of capital, maintenance, and facility-related projects from planning through completion. This role supports project execution, budget management, contractor coordination, and stakeholder communication while helping ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with operational objectives. Together with the Facilities Team this role will collaborate with key stakeholders within the operational and leasing teams with respect to planned and potential future projects.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing capital, construction, facilities, or infrastructure projects. Preferably within the commercial building sector.
  • Strong project management experience with responsibility for budgets, schedules, contractors, consultants, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, contract administration, and facilities operations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and relationship management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software such as MS Project, Asana, Procore, or similar platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of commercial infrastructure and building systems will be an asset.
  • PMP designation, knowledge of building systems, and bilingualism (English/French) are considered assets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital, maintenance, and tenant improvement projects from planning through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and project objectives are achieved.
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, vendors, and stakeholders to support project execution and resolve issues impacting delivery.
  • Develop and Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and progress, providing regular updates and recommendations to the Manager, Capital Projects & Facilities.
  • Conduct site visits and attend project meetings to ensure quality, compliance, and contractual obligations are met.
  • Support building maintenance, operational improvements, and facility-related initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Property Management and Operations teams to address maintenance concerns and operational challenges.
  • Assist in developing maintenance standards, procedures, and operational best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations, building standards, and operational requirements.
  • Prepare and track project budgets, forecasts, cost estimates, and variance reporting for capital and maintenance projects.
  • Review consultant proposals, vendor quotations, invoices, and change orders to support procurement and budget control.
  • Support annual capital repair planning and portfolio improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain vendor and contractor relationships to support project and operational needs.
  • Liaise with internal departments, tenants, consultants, and contractors to support project coordination and communication.
  • Support tenant fit-ups, refurbishments, and landlord work across the portfolio.
  • Assist with Building Condition Assessments, capital planning activities, and portfolio improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain project documentation, reporting, and tracking systems to support operational and strategic planning.
