About The Position

As a member of the Strategic Implementation team within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) of State Street Investment Management, you will join a global project management team with responsibility for the most strategic cross-functional initiatives happening across IM. Our projects are managed within a Change Management Framework to provide governance and oversight control. We are presently hiring for a Project Manager position within the team based in Boston. The role is for an experienced project manager at the Vice President level to lead multiple projects concurrently and/or a large program with multiple workstreams. This is a full-time role with 4 days in the office expected per week and 1 day of remote work. Requirements

Demonstrated experience with planning and leading cross-functional initiatives.
Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
Experience establishing an organized and structured approach to change initiatives, with a strong awareness of business risk.
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with our business and technology partners.
Comfort interacting with all levels of the organization.
Experience establishing clear accountability and ownership for project deliverables across other teams while taking accountability for individual work and being a self-motivated, productive colleague.
Act with urgency to ensure essential plans remain on course and issues are effectively communicated.
Ability to drive creative thinking and collaboration to surface strategic solutions.
Ability to solve complex problems.
A minimum of 10–12 years of relevant experience within the finance industry.
Prior business project management experience required.
Strong Microsoft Office skills required.

Responsibilities

Lead multiple projects and/or a large program, which includes responsibility for overall execution, project structure, workstream management and adherence to the Change Management Framework, status reporting and presentation, and transparent issue management and escalation.
Actively collaborate and facilitate discussions with applicable business functions across Investment Management, other State Street business lines, and external partners to deliver project objectives.
Interact with leadership across IM and the broader State Street organization to provide ongoing transparency and support for the initiative.
Establish and evolve program structures that drive execution and ensure clear accountability and ownership across stakeholders spanning multiple geographies and functions.
Engage senior stakeholders to define outcomes, secure alignment, and drive the involved parties toward completion of deliverables, proactively resolving conflicts, removing barriers, and escalating as needed. Build strong connections with stakeholders at all levels to ensure active engagement in program governance, solution design, decision-making, and issue resolution.
Synthesize detailed updates across multiple workstreams into clear, concise communication to executive stakeholders.
Identify and track risks to timelines, formulate data-driven remediation options and recommendations, seek and obtain stakeholder buy-in on the path forward, and ensure completion of necessary actions.
Create and maintain program documentation aligned to the Change Management Framework and continuously improve tools, templates, and standards used across the team.
Have a change management mindset throughout the lifecycle of the effort and embed process ownership and knowledge into the respective business lines by engaging business teams throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on ongoing governance and control structures to maintain the benefits of the project beyond implementation.
Identify conflicts as they arise and engage the appropriate parties to resolve them.
Build connections with all stakeholders to achieve active participation in project meetings and solution evaluation, including strong coordination with our IT project management team.
Collaborate with other members of the Strategic Implementation team to grow our global talent pool and continue to evolve project management practices.
Support the global team in mentoring, leading and recruiting new team members; lead by promoting the values of the team and aim to maintain strong, positive team engagement.
Provide input to senior leadership planning within the global Strategic Implementation team, building on our value proposition and supporting executive-level resource planning and firmwide prioritization of initiatives.
