Project Manager - C&I Sales

S&C Electric CompanyToronto, ON

About The Position

The C&I Sales Project Manager is a Sales Operations role responsible for coordinating post PO execution activities and providing project management style support to the C&I sales organization. Reporting to the Director of Sales Operations, this role owns day to day execution follow up once an order is received, ensuring alignment across Sales, Production, Engineering, and Service while maintaining clear communication with customers and District Managers. The role is designed to remove non sales execution and coordination activities from District Managers, enabling them to focus on selling and customer development. In addition, the role provides selective pre sales and during sales field support such as site visits, measurements, and information gathering when requested, without duplicating quotation, order entry, or detailed application engineering responsibilities owned by Sales Support and TAS.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelors degree.
  • 5+ years experience coordinating projects, orders, or execution activities in a technical, industrial, or field based environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive follow up and issue resolution across cross functional teams without direct authority.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to provide concise execution updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in field environments, including site visits and occasional travel.
  • Proficiency with structured tracking tools (e.g., Excel based trackers) and disciplined action management.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and consistently close execution gaps.

Responsibilities

  • Assume ownership of execution coordination after a Purchase Order is received and drive routine follow ups and execution.
  • Maintain a centralized job tracking tool (e.g., Excel or defined platform) to monitor project status, drawings progress, delivery readiness, and open action items.
  • Act as the primary coordination point between Sales, Production, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely progression through execution milestones.
  • Proactively identify execution risks, missing information, or schedule impacts and drive resolution by engaging the appropriate internal teams.
  • Provide structured execution updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate execution changes (e.g., drawing revisions, scope clarifications, change notices) by gathering inputs, tracking approvals, and ensuring alignment across functions.
  • Support District Managers on complex or project based opportunities by ensuring complete and accurate information is collected and communicated to quoting and application teams.
  • Act as a coordination and technical support resource in customer discussions when required, supporting quotation development, catalog selection, or order entry.
  • Participate in customer or consultant meetings to support execution alignment and clarify requirements impacting delivery or field activities.
  • Conduct site visits, walkthroughs, and field measurements upon request.
  • Document site conditions, constraints, competitor presence, and execution considerations, and communicate findings to relevant internal teams.
  • Provide practical field input to support execution planning.
  • Serve as a coordination bridge between Sales, Production, Engineering, and Service to reduce execution friction and improve handoff quality.
  • Capture recurring execution or field issues and provide feedback to Sales Operations and technical teams to support continuous improvement.
  • Support adherence to defined role boundaries and execution processes, particularly between Sales Support, TAS, and Sales Operations.
