Requirements

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding technical accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and solve problems proactively.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality service.
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a focus in: Building Science, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the applicable provincial regulatory body.
  • Minimum 5+ years of project coordination, project management, or consulting experience within building science, building envelope, engineering, or a related industry.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designations related to building science, building envelope consulting, or engineering are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple building science and building envelope projects concurrently.
  • Perform field reviews, testing, investigations, and data collection.
  • Conduct condition assessments, failure investigations, diagnosis, and remediation evaluations.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Complete design assignments of varying scope and complexity.
  • Apply technical methods and engineering principles to solve project-specific challenges.
  • Ensure accuracy of calculations, data collection, analyses, and technical documentation.
  • Measure building dimensions and quantify materials both on-site and from drawings.
  • Prepare and review project drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to support project design and documentation requirements.
  • Review contractor submittments and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
  • Review drawings and specifications prepared by others to verify adequacy of scope, materials, methods, and details.
  • Oversee field reviews, testing programs, and project inspections.
  • Perform quality observations to verify compliance with contract documents, applicable building codes, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and conduct pre-bid, pre-construction, progress, and project closeout meetings.
  • Provide contract administration services throughout project execution.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, manufacturers, and project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to field technicians and technologists.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate project billing inputs and job costing information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
