Serving as the central point of contact for internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, this role is accountable for managing project timelines, budgets, scope, and quality standards. This individual ensures alignment with Horwitz’s operational goals while modeling our core values—Safe, Accountable, Professional, Motivated, Can Do, and Curious. The position requires a strong mix of technical BAS knowledge, project management expertise, and people leadership.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with BAS platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Minimum of a 2-Year Technical or Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor's Degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in building automation systems (BAS), controls, or related fields.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP or other project management certification a plus.
  • Relevant BAS training or manufacturer certification (e.g., Niagara, Johnson Controls, Tridium) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and milestone tracking.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams, field operations, subcontractors, and suppliers to streamline workflows and maintain clear project priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with technical and operational standards during project planning and execution.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, maintaining transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings, manage change requests, and address client needs proactively.
  • Foster long-term client relationships through responsive communication and exceptional service delivery.
  • Review design documents, submittals, installation drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to field and engineering teams throughout the project life cycle.
  • Stay current with trends and technologies in building automation to ensure system designs meet modern performance and efficiency standards.
  • Monitor project expenditures, enforce cost-control measures, and mitigate scope creep.
  • Track project progress against key deliverables and adjust timelines to keep milestones on track.
  • Prepare and deliver financial summaries and progress reports to leadership and clients.
  • Coordinate across departments to foster a collaborative, results-driven work environment.
  • Mentor and support field staff, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, and professional development.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned and best practices.
  • Conduct regular site visits to verify installation accuracy, code compliance, and adherence to project standards.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures, risk management protocols, and safety practices.
  • Oversee system commissioning and facilitate seamless project turnover, including client training and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
