About The Position

This role supports and instructs those served by the department with complex queries, applies specialized knowledge of multiple standards, policies and procedures, and maintains accurate and detailed records. The Project Manager will lead the planning and execution of the initial NOC facility rental initiative, coordinating with ASU units to ensure successful planning, logistics, agreements, and operational support. This position will also coordinate cross-university Olympic initiatives by working with academic and administrative units, Athletics, Facilities, Events, Housing, and external partners to support projects aligned with ASU's Olympic strategy. Additionally, the role will support the development of strategic partnerships with Olympic organizations, National Olympic Committees, industry, government, and community partners to advance ASU's educational, research, innovation, and community engagement goals. The Project Manager will assist in the development and management of the ASU Olympics Initiative, including project planning, governance, timelines, stakeholder engagement, and tracking progress across strategic workstreams. Collaboration with the President's Office and initiative leadership is key to identifying and advancing new Olympic-related opportunities, preparing briefing materials, and supporting communications that elevate ASU's visibility and impact. The role contributes to the long-term implementation of the ASU Olympics Initiative by helping develop programs, events, partnerships, and innovation activities that position ASU as a leading academic and innovation partner before, during, and after the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building and maintaining partnerships with higher education institutions, government agencies, nonprofit
  • Excellent communication skills, including preparing executive-level presentations and briefing materials.
  • Experience coordinating high-profile events, programs, or initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, international sports organizations, or large-scale global events is desirable.
