Responsibilities

  • Practice Leadership in achieving or exceeding annual revenue, profitability, and utilization targets for the Advisory practice through proactive management of client engagements, staff resources, and operational performance.
  • Lead business development initiatives focused on expanding the Advisory practice’s presence within the construction, real estate development, legal, and institutional markets, while strengthening long-term client relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat business.
  • Manage and oversee the successful execution of new and existing client engagements including owner’s representation, project management, construction risk advisory, scheduling, claims consulting, and dispute resolution assignments.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with owners, developers, attorneys, contractors, architects, and industry professionals to position the Advisory practice as a trusted partner throughout all phases of design and construction.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to assigned team members while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and client-focused culture centered on excellence in service delivery.
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities to project teams, monitor progress of assignments, and ensure all deliverables consistently meet DeSimone’s standards for technical quality, professionalism, and responsiveness.
  • Support leadership in monitoring operational and financial performance indicators including utilization, accounts receivable, project profitability, staffing allocations, and discretionary expenditures.
  • Meet or exceed individual utilization and revenue contribution goals established by company leadership while maintaining a strong focus on client service and business growth.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, reports, fee structures, and client communications in support of business development and project execution efforts.
  • Lead internal project teams in establishing and achieving defined objectives and key results (OKRs) aligned with the strategic growth initiatives of the Advisory practice.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous quality control procedures across all service lines to preserve and enhance DeSimone’s reputation for delivering high-quality advisory and consulting services.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate project, operational, or client-related risks in a timely manner to Practice Leadership while proactively assisting in the implementation of effective solutions.
  • Serve as an on-site Owner’s Representative and Project Management professional, as required, to oversee construction activities, monitor project progress, coordinate with contractors, consultants, and design teams, facilitate stakeholder communication, and protect the owner’s interests throughout all phases of project planning, construction, and closeout.
  • Travel as necessary to support project assignments, client meetings, industry events, litigation support activities, and business development initiatives.
  • Perform detailed analysis and evaluation of construction-related documentation including drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals, shop drawings, daily reports, weather records, contracts, change orders, and cost reports to identify trends, risks, delays, and key project findings.
  • Develop and perform forensic schedule analyses utilizing industry-recognized methodologies including As-Planned vs. As-Built, Windows Analysis, Time Impact Analysis (TIA), and other Critical Path Method (CPM) techniques.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain complex project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 and related scheduling platforms for both active project controls and dispute resolution assignments.
  • Conduct independent reviews of baseline schedules and periodic schedule updates for compliance with contract requirements, overall reasonableness, sequencing logic, resource allocation, and schedule integrity.
  • Perform labor productivity analyses and evaluations related to project performance, inefficiencies, disruption claims, and construction impacts.
  • Evaluate and quantify delay damages, extended general conditions, lost productivity, lost profits, consequential damages, and other construction-related cost impacts.
  • Review and validate construction costs, change order pricing, contractor requisitions, and cost reasonableness assessments in support of owners, developers, lenders, and legal counsel.
  • Support owner’s representation and project management assignments through oversight of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement coordination, construction progress monitoring, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management.
  • Prepare and/or support the preparation of expert reports, demonstrative exhibits, and technical analyses for mediation, arbitration, litigation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Provide technical consulting and client support throughout dispute resolution proceedings including mediation, arbitration, litigation support, and expert testimony preparation.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering disciplines and external project stakeholders to deliver integrated advisory solutions that support successful project execution while protecting client interests.
