Job Title: Project Manager 1 Location(s): Richmond, VA (Hybrid) Job Summary We are seeking an entry-level IT Project Manager to provide administrative and analytical support to an IT Portfolio Office. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and an interest in project portfolio management. The successful candidate will help maintain project information, prepare executive reports and dashboards, support governance activities, and ensure project documentation remains accurate and current.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with: Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Outlook Word Microsoft Teams SharePoint
Nice To Haves
- Experience with ServiceNow.
- Experience with GitLab.
- Knowledge of project portfolio management and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Collect, consolidate, validate, and maintain project and portfolio data from multiple sources.
- Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio reports and executive dashboards.
- Monitor project financials, including budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures.
- Coordinate project governance meetings and track follow-up action items.
- Support project intake, portfolio planning, and prioritization activities.
- Maintain accurate project information within the ServiceNow portfolio management tool.
- Analyze portfolio data and develop meaningful summaries and insights for leadership.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate portfolio performance and key metrics.
- Assist with month-end and quarterly reporting activities.
- Prepare reporting materials for portfolio governance and leadership meetings.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and data quality.
- Maintain reporting documentation, report definitions, and standard operating procedures.
