About The Position

Dryden Fibre Canada is currently seeking an individual to join the Dryden Team. The city of Dryden is located on the North shoreline of the Wabigoon Chain of Lakes along the Trans-Canada Highway. It is located midway between Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is surrounded by wilderness, lakes, and landscapes. Reporting to the Director – Innovation and Modernization Programs, you will be responsible for driving projects to completion and ensuring progress on Dryden Fibre Canada’s strategic road map. Examples include capital investments, cost savings projects, business process improvements, and strategic planning. This role will heavily collaborate with the product development team, maintenance and engineering team, operational team, as well as support functions, such as procurement, IT, technical services, environment, and finance.

Requirements

  • Hold an Engineering degree, and P. Eng certification.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction and project management, preferably in an industrial environment.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to take ownership and accountability to drive and deliver on commitments.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
  • A safety-oriented mindset with the desire to enforce and follow mill safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, including technical writing, budget preparation and presentations.
  • Excellent computer skills with computer-based maintenance software such as SAP, MS Office, and scheduling software.

  • PMP certification is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and long-term future projects for the mill.
  • Use applied business judgment to translate leadership’s strategic vision into discrete and actionable projects.
  • Work with various external vendors, contractors and consultants to coordinate studies, explore project options and achieve results.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams of internal and external resources ensuring that the targeted impact and schedule are realized, from chartering through implementation to results.
  • Track performance, capture learning, and regularly communicate progress to senior leadership with recommendations aligned with strategic priorities.
