About The Position

Frito-Lay Supply Chain Transformation and Engineering is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer Project Manager (L7) to manage New Production Capacity and Growth projects. This role involves executing engineering solutions to increase Frito-Lay’s product capacity, which may include installing new manufacturing lines or modifying existing production equipment across process, packaging, warehouse, facilities, and utilities. The position requires participation in and leadership of cross-functional teams, defining project scope, and applying engineering principles to problem-solving and managing changes. Key responsibilities include managing project budgets, timelines, procurement, and installation/start-up plans, as well as managing multiple project deliverables, risks, and competing priorities. The role is expected to involve 25% to 35% travel.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering
  • Technical curiosity with a desire to continuously learn
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, aggressive, results-oriented culture
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate well to project stakeholders including senior leadership and cross-functional partners

  • Previous Project Management in Manufacturing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute engineering solutions to bring additional capacity to Frito-Lay’s portfolio of products. This can include the installation of new manufacturing lines and/or the modification of existing production equipment, including process, packaging, warehouse, facilities & utilities.
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional teams of colleagues and outside resources, including plant personnel, equipment vendors, engineering and construction contractors.
  • Define manufacturing and unit operation needs for project scope requirements and documentation
  • Ability to independently lead medium and large projects
  • Apply Engineering principles to problem solving and managing unexpected changes
  • Manage cost by developing project budgets, maintaining cost tracking tools and actively controlling project costs to deliver project cost requirements. Create project funding documents.
  • Demonstrate time management skills by developing project timelines, maintaining time management tools in multiple formats and actively controlling project schedules, ensuring project schedule attainment.
  • Manage procurement including analyzing quotes, writing procurement documents and tracking project procurement information. This also includes developing and leveraging technical specifications and writing inspection acceptance test plans.
  • Develop, manage and execute equipment installation and start-up plans while supervising outside contractors and vendors.
  • Manage multiple project deliverables, accelerated timelines and competing priorities
  • Adequately manage, communicate and mitigate project risks
