About The Position

Frito-Lay Supply Chain Transformation and Engineering is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer Project Manager (L7) to manage New Production Capacity and Growth projects. This role involves executing engineering solutions to increase capacity for Frito-Lay’s product portfolio, which may include installing new manufacturing lines or modifying existing production equipment. The position requires participation in and leadership of cross-functional teams, including plant personnel, equipment vendors, and contractors. Key responsibilities include defining manufacturing and unit operation needs, managing project scope, budgets, timelines, and procurement, and developing/executing installation and start-up plans. The role also demands managing multiple project deliverables, accelerated timelines, competing priorities, and project risks effectively. Expected travel is 25% to 35%.

Requirements

BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering
Technical curiosity with a desire to continuously learn

Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate well to project stakeholders including senior leadership and cross-functional partners

Responsibilities

Execute engineering solutions to bring additional capacity to Frito-Lay’s portfolio of products. This can include the installation of new manufacturing lines and/or the modification of existing production equipment, including process, packaging, warehouse, facilities & utilities.
Participate in and lead cross-functional teams of colleagues and outside resources, including plant personnel, equipment vendors, engineering and construction contractors.
Define manufacturing and unit operation needs for project scope requirements and documentation
Ability to independently lead medium and large projects
Apply Engineering principles to problem solving and managing unexpected changes
Manage cost by developing project budgets, maintaining cost tracking tools and actively controlling project costs to deliver project cost requirements. Create project funding documents.
Demonstrate time management skills by developing project timelines, maintaining time management tools in multiple formats and actively controlling project schedules, ensuring project schedule attainment.
Manage procurement including analyzing quotes, writing procurement documents and tracking project procurement information. This also includes developing and leveraging technical specifications and writing inspection acceptance test plans.
Develop, manage and execute equipment installation and start-up plans while supervising outside contractors and vendors.
Manage multiple project deliverables, accelerated timelines and competing priorities
Adequately manage, communicate and mitigate project risks
