About The Position

Provides technical and administrative support to project managers and division leadership by coordinating projects, analyzing and reporting project information, managing records and resources, and preparing reports and presentations. Coordinates meetings, site visits, travel, purchasing, financial tracking, and other administrative activities to support timely and effective project delivery.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
  • Minimum Qualifications for the GS-05: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing routine office support duties; answering basic inquiries and routing phone calls; and operating standard office equipment to copy, scan, or file documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
  • Minimum Qualifications for the GS-06: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing general administrative support to an office or team; updating basic spreadsheets, logs, or files; and drafting routine emails or memos. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Behavior, Management, or a related discipline to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
  • Minimum Qualifications for the GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating office administrative tasks; tracking and monitoring schedules, tasks, or basic project timelines; and preparing standard reports or presentation materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Behavior, Management, or a related discipline to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
  • Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04, if applying for GS-05, GS-05 for GS-06, and GS-06 for GS-07).
  • FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers with planning, tracking, and coordinating project activities and deadlines.

  • Manage meetings, correspondence, records, calendars, and follow-up actions for the division or branch.
