About The Position

The HIDI Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Lead to join our Electrical team. This role is ideal for a consulting engineer who enjoys leading projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and taking ownership from design through construction. You'll work closely with senior leadership while building the technical, project management, and client relationship skills that prepare you for future leadership opportunities. Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology Diploma
  • Progressive consulting engineering experience in building electrical systems
  • Experience leading electrical engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of base building electrical design and applicable codes and standards
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering high-quality work

Nice To Haves

  • Revit experience is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering projects from concept design through construction
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Prepare and review drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to HIDI quality standards
  • Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and construction support
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers, designers, and BIM staff
  • Review project deliverables for quality and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, electrical codes, and industry standards
  • Support continuous improvement of technical processes and standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, and internal disciplines
  • Support proposal preparation and fee development
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Manage project scope, schedules, and resources
  • Monitor project financial performance and utilization
  • Identify project risks and develop practical solutions
  • Communicate project status with Group Leads and Principals
