About The Position

ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. The D&E Functions Group in the Cymer Light Source Division of ASML, located in San Diego, performs the Design and Engineering of new and upgraded DUV Source products, and other supporting projects. The work is diverse, fast-paced, and innovative. The Light Conditioning Team is responsible for the development and engineering of the optical systems and light conditioning solutions that shape, stabilize, and optimize laser performance to meet system and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors with minimum 6 years of experience
  • Masters with minimum 3 years of experience
  • PhD with minimum 1 years of experience
  • At least 4 year of experience in leading a small to medium sized technical teams
  • Overseeing multiple concurrent activities is required
  • Strong English communication skills – both written and oral
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an understanding of customer relationship building, including with internal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Organization, structure, project planning, and delivery of the optical components/modules in any projects that light conditioning group involved in.
  • Coordinating and proactively driving the development work of – and operate the project comprising – multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, co-developers and cross-sector stakeholders.
  • Participating in reviewing concepts and designs on all above-mentioned criteria through project completion.
  • Maintaining a deliverables plan according to the triple constraints of timing, resources and scope.
  • Coordinating the deliverables from projects, teams and individuals, driving performance, availability, cost/budget, and schedule.
  • Managing resources in a team of ~10 cross-functional contributors and take operational responsibility within projects.
  • Identifying bottlenecks and/or improvement opportunities within the project or team, coordinating with peer stakeholders to mitigate issues, and escalating for needed help when necessary.
  • Managing and steering co-developers, aligning them with work breakdown and plan.
  • Assessing technical risk and create mitigation plans.
  • Developing and maintaining project work breakdown structures and plans (e.g. with MS Project) and presenting progress against plans in all required forums.
  • Working closely with cross-functional groups (engineers and scientists, worldwide customer support personnel, manufacturing personnel, upper management, marketing, external customers).
  • Assuring Specifications and Designs are written, reviewed and delivered to proper teams in a timely manner.
  • Analyzing and communicating customer needs and reconciling these with design teams, deliverables and management as appropriate.
  • Delivering progress reports and presentations to upper management and internal / external customers as a primary project spokesperson.
  • Interacting with all partner teams and other project managers as primary spokesperson on relevant project/program issues.
  • Managing and performing all project “change management” duties as appropriate to meet objectives in a very dynamic environment.
