About The Position

Broadbent & Associates, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for a Project-II Archaeologist position in Henderson, NV. This is a full-time, salaried position, not seasonal. Candidates may specialize in historical, industrial, or prehistoric archaeology. The role involves managing cultural resources fieldwork projects across Nevada, California, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. Responsibilities include effective communication with field crews, recording and evaluating cultural resources in various regions (Mojave Desert, Great Basin, Colorado Plateau), participating in survey, excavation, and monitoring projects, safely driving field vehicles, and using topographic maps for navigation. The successful candidate will work from the Henderson office and collaborate with the broader cultural resources team, demonstrating a blend of office and field skills. Broadbent is an engineering and environmental consulting company founded in 1987 with over 140 employees serving clients in the western United States. The cultural resources team is supported by an ArcGIS/Database Specialist, administrative staff, and temporary/seasonal field staff.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field.
  • Qualify as a Crew Chief or Principal Investigator Statewide in Arizona and Nevada and/or neighboring states for federally issued Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA) permits, Cultural Resources Use Permits (CRUP) and State permits.
  • Training and experience implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
  • Five years of experience working in a consulting company, state agency, or federal agency.
  • Ability to perform both fieldwork and office activities independently and with a team.
  • Experience with data entry, producing site forms, and professional communication such as emails and letters.
  • Experience writing professional reports for Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

Responsibilities
