About The Position

MMR Group, Inc. is seeking an HSE Project Coordinator for our Rio Tinto-Kennecott site in Magna, Utah. This role involves balancing field time with administrative tasks and meetings, hosting daily safety meetings, ensuring compliance with client, MMR, and OSHA policies, and performing jobsite audits/inspections. The position requires a proactive and organized individual with intermediate computer skills for updating spreadsheets and matrices weekly. A clean-shaven appearance is mandatory due to annual respiratory protection fit-testing requirements. This is an ongoing maintenance role with a daytime work schedule, Monday through Friday, 8-9 hours per day.

Requirements

  • OSHA 500 or 501 certification or equivalent.
  • OSHA 510 or equivalent.
  • Intermediate computer skills (updating spreadsheets and matrices weekly).
  • Clean shaven is a must for Annual Respiratory Protection Fit-Test (Full-Face & Half-Face).
  • Must be proactive and organized.
  • Possess proper forms of identification such as valid Driver’s License or State identification, and a Social Security Card.
  • Ability to travel to and from the jobsite via personal vehicle or other public form of transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) in Occupational Safety & Health from an accredited university.
  • Minimum five years related experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP).
  • Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST).
  • NFPA 70E knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Balance field time with administrative tasks and meetings.
  • Host daily safety meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with client, MMR, and OSHA policies.
  • Perform jobsite audits/inspections.
  • Scan/e-mail monthly paperwork.
  • Work proactively with upper management on the construction and HSE side.
  • Develop, revise, and implement safety training programs as needed and/or required.
  • Implement, track, and monitor MMR’s HSE Management System.
  • Conduct training throughout the company and support the corporate safety department’s training plan.
  • Maintain the training database.
  • Provide safety support to all jobsites.
  • Perform field audits.
  • Perform on-site re-training as required.
  • Perform follow-ups to ensure training was understood by employees.
  • Ensure safety procedures are being followed by all employees.
  • Conduct safety meetings.
  • Meet with clients on safety issues, pre-job meetings, and evaluations.
  • Assist in MMR & all required regulatory agency training for employees and supervisors.
  • Track information for use with supervisor’s performance reviews, and for employee re-training.
  • Assist in MMR’s Supervisor’s Safety Training.
  • Stay up to date and current on all regulatory agency regulations.
  • Assist in accident investigations along with the Safety Director and/or the superintendent.
  • Complete reports for MMR and client.
  • Escort insurance account representative to job sites for evaluation.
  • Implement, train, and maintain database on Behavior Based Safety.
  • Stay up to date and current on Client HSE standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Attend safety training as directed.
  • Commit to the company goal of achieving a zero-injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures.
  • Travel to and from the jobsite via personal vehicle or other public form of transportation.
