About The Position
The Project Geologist plays a crucial role in project planning, geological investigations, data analysis, and report preparation. Your geological knowledge and expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful completion of environmental and geotechnical projects. SCI Engineering, Inc. is a professional consulting and engineering firm offering a variety of services from the design development stage through construction. We specialize in Geotechnical, Environmental, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources and Construction Material Testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or related field
- At least 5 years in geological investigations and project management
- Professional Geologist (PG) License
- Strong oral and technical writing skills (required)
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
Nice To Haves
- Ability to travel out of town for up to 1 week at a time (preferred)
- Proficient in geological modeling and mapping software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
Responsibilities
- Project planning and coordination including subcontractor procurement, sampling and health and safety plan development, project management support with client and regulatory interfacing
- Utility clearance coordination with one call (811) and private utility locators, clients, and contractors
- Conduct geological field investigations and data collection
- Analyze geological data and provide insights for project design
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for clients
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project managers, and ensure safety and compliance
