About The Position

The Project Geologist will be responsible for completing all facets of an environmental and geotechnical site investigation by environmental regulations, including site project and task management, subcontractor and vendor coordination, geotechnical logging and reporting. This individual will also be tasked with onsite client management.

Requirements

Legally Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions
Bachelor’s degree in Geology from an accredited college or university is required.
Possess understanding and knowledge of natural resources, environmental science, and geosciences.
Possess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of software applications, including but not limited to MS Office.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts and proposal requests, technical procedures, and regulations.
Ability to write reports, proposals, and business correspondence with clarity and good grammar.
Currently hold a valid State Driver’s License with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
Possesses or be able to obtain valid passport, possible international travel/assignments may be required.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree or equivalent in Geological Engineering/Geology is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and prepare site exploration plans.
Coordinate with property owners and agencies in obtaining permits required for accessing sites and performing drilling.
Coordinate with drillers and other agencies in scheduling the drilling activities.
Procure and mobilize consumables and tooling on projects
Logging and sampling of soil borings and test pits.
Carry out a variety of geotechnical in-situ testing such as pressure meter testing, packer testing, in-situ density testing, etc.
Data entry such as laboratory test results and assisting with laboratory tests.
Proficient with laboratory index data (analysis and reporting).
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and proposals.
Assist in the preparation of engineering reports.
Drive equipment to and from job location.
Complete field assignments as directed.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Company safety rules and procedures.
Work around potentially hazardous materials.
Perform other duties as assigned.
