About The Position

Lemontree Healthcare is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Environmental Services Floor Project Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing specialized floor care and maintenance tasks, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and cleaning various flooring types in patient rooms, hallways, and other areas within the facility. The Floor Project Technician will also be tasked with deep cleaning projects, equipment maintenance, and supporting the overall cleanliness and safety of the healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of various floor cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and work in various physical environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in floor care or environmental services in a healthcare, commercial, or institutional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor care tasks such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing all types of flooring (tile, vinyl, terrazzo, etc.) in accordance with facility protocols.
  • Ensure all floors are maintained to high standards, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appearance.
  • Perform regular floor inspections to identify areas needing repair or special attention.
  • Apply appropriate cleaning chemicals, materials, and techniques to prevent damage to flooring surfaces while achieving the best possible results.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of floor care supplies and materials.
  • Execute deep cleaning projects, including carpet cleaning, floor grout cleaning, and high-dusting of ceilings, walls, vents, and light fixtures.
  • Clean and disinfect hard-to-reach areas such as behind furniture, underneath equipment, and other spaces that require specialized cleaning techniques.
  • Participate in seasonal or periodic cleaning projects, including spring cleaning and post-construction cleanup.
  • Operate floor cleaning equipment such as scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and carpet extractors safely and effectively.
  • Perform routine maintenance on cleaning equipment and ensure it is in proper working order.
  • Report any faulty or broken equipment to the Environmental Services Supervisor for repair or replacement.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities comply with safety protocols and environmental health standards.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Handle and store cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with safety regulations to prevent accidents or contamination.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Environmental Services team to ensure efficient workflow and completion of floor care and deep cleaning tasks.
  • Communicate with hospital staff and department heads regarding floor care schedules and any disruptions to normal operations due to cleaning tasks.
  • Address concerns or special cleaning requests from patients, staff, or visitors promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records of floor care services performed, including areas cleaned, products used, and any issues encountered.
  • Submit reports to the Environmental Services Supervisor on the status of ongoing projects, equipment issues, and supply inventory.
