About The Position

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is seeking a Director for its Project Finance Investment Banking team, focusing on the Energy and Infrastructure sectors. MUFG is a leading global financial group with a strong presence in project finance, consistently ranked #1 in the Americas since 2009. The team originates, structures, and executes debt project financing transactions, including bank loan arranging, senior notes placement, institutional loan bookrunning, and advisory services. This role involves originating and structuring financing for large-scale energy and infrastructure projects for corporate and government clients, as well as long-term alternative energy projects. The position requires a seasoned manager with extensive product knowledge and expertise, balancing day-to-day operational execution with strategic direction for the Infrastructure area.

Requirements

10+ yrs project finance experience in leading the origination and structuring of deals placed in the commercial bank market, institutional loan market and 144A/USPP market.
Experience should include the natural resource (midstream, LNG, petrochemical, refining) and new energies (alternative fuels, carbon capture) sectors.
Leading project finance advisory.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Familiarity with the “big picture”, anticipating workflow rather than acting reactively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Capacity to consistently communicate professionally, tactfully, and effectively with clients, third-party advisors, and colleagues.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a high-intensity environment and effectively manage/prioritize and deliver on multiple streams of workflow while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy in all respects.

Responsibilities

Conduct marketing activities for project finance, identifying and sourcing lending and non-lending (cross selling) opportunities that conform to MUFG’s business opportunities.
Conduct credit analyses and due diligence on new business opportunities.
Guide the deals through closing and ensure a smooth transition to the portfolio group.
Refer business to MUFG US.
Perform related duties and participate in special projects as required by MD.
