About The Position

The Executive Director will be a key member of the team responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of Project Finance deals within BBVA New York. This senior role will involve managerial tasks such as originating deals and monitoring the performance of junior team members. Due to the team's compact size, the Executive Director will also be expected to directly handle the structuring, execution, and documentation of specific deals.

Requirements

  • Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience working in corporate and/or investment banking related to Project Finance and/or experience in construction energy firms related to project finance.
  • Fluent in English a must.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, financial modeling and DCF analysis.
  • Proficient in ALL Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Employment eligibility to work with BBVA in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

Responsibilities

  • Direct underwriting, Due Diligence, and Financial Analysis of project finance opportunities in infrastructure and energy.
  • Monitoring delivery of internal apps for both product and credit by junior team.
  • Review of market material for client pitches.
  • Support and guidance in the preparation of Information Memos and Lender Presentations for lead role opportunities.
  • Managing the diligence process from a technical and legal standpoint and overseeing the structuring process through deal closing.
  • Overseeing portfolio management and information reporting as well as due accounting of deals.
  • Close interaction with teams in the global BBVA organization and, specifically, with members of the credit and risk team in New York and Madrid.
  • Active involvement in all credit processes with both Madrid and New York teams on a deal-to-deal basis.
  • Understanding of financial modeling.
  • Oral and written presentations for client marketing and internal purposes.
  • Client meeting participation with a strong focus on deal origination.
  • Responsible for overseeing of all internal processes as well as deal loan closing process.
  • Identification and use of research and tools.
  • Active participation in all due diligence and legal processes when related to specific transactions.
