About The Position

Skanska is searching for a dynamic Project/Field Engineering Intern for their 2027 Summer Project. The internship focuses on various aspects of project engineering, including general engineering, field engineering (mechanical or civil), cost engineering, safety engineering, estimating, finance/accounting, and equipment/maintenance. The intern will assist Project Managers and Superintendents, perform routine daily activities, and gather/distribute information. Potential experiences include coordinating project activities, performing accounting and estimating functions with supervision, and other assigned duties. Skanska has also centralized its data center and semiconductor expertise into a nationwide team to deliver advanced technology projects, focusing on modular, AI-ready, and sustainable infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic phases of construction projects.
  • Knowledge of mathematics functions (geometry, basic algebra).
  • Computer skills (MS Office, HCSS, CGC, etc).
  • Ability to perform all work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with customers, clients, subcontractors, and other third parties.
  • Ability to present information in a clear and understandable manner in both written and verbal form.
  • Working towards a bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field or equivalent through experience.
  • Currently, the company is not considering applicants for this position who now or in the future require employment sponsorship by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support Project Manager and Superintendent on assigned projects.
  • Perform routine daily activities.
  • Gather and distribute information.
  • Coordinate project activities with direct supervision from the Project and/or Operations Manager.
  • Perform accounting activities with assistance.
  • Perform estimating functions as requested with assistance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
