About The Position

The Project Expeditor is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and expediting materials and logistics activities to support on-time project execution in a structural steel fabrication environment. Working closely with the Project Management team, this role ensures that project-related materials, fabricated steel, and outbound shipments align with project schedules, milestones, and priorities.

Requirements

  • Experience in project expediting, logistics, shipping, supply chain, or operations coordination, preferably in fabrication, manufacturing, or construction.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate across project management, fabrication, logistics, and vendor teams.
  • Proficiency with shipping systems, tracking tools, and project management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a structural steel fabrication or construction-related environment.
  • Familiarity with vendor coordination, freight management, and material expediting.
  • Understanding of fabrication schedules, project milestones, and deliverable-driven workflows.
  • Ability to anticipate project risks related to materials, fabrication progress, and delivery timing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and expedite project-related materials, fabricated steel, and outbound shipments in alignment with project schedules and milestones.
  • Partner closely with Project Managers to understand project scope, priorities, delivery requirements, and critical path items.
  • Track material and shipment status from order through delivery and resolve delays or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and maintain logistics documentation including packing lists, bills of lading, and compliance paperwork.
  • Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers, freight forwarders, vendors, and warehouses.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for shipment and material status updates.
  • Identify and escalate risks related to material availability, fabrication completion, or delivery timelines.
  • Ensure expediting and shipping activities comply with company policies and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipment status, logistics costs, and project documentation.
  • Support cost-control initiatives through efficient logistics planning and freight monitoring.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to logistics and cross-functional coordination.
