About The Position

VBC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Executive for Strategic Project Delivery that will serve as a senior advisor and strategic leader within VBC's U.S. business. This role will partner with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop project strategies, optimize delivery models, and ensure alignment between project outcomes and VBC's enterprise objectives. The Project Executive will act as a trusted consultant to clients and internal leaders, providing thought leadership across feasibility, planning, operational execution, financial analysis, and performance management. This role is ideal for an experienced professional from the consulting, AEC, or manufacturing sectors who excels at problem-solving, stakeholder alignment, and guiding complex, multidisciplinary initiatives. In this capacity, the Project Executive will be responsible for representing VBC, both internally and externally, in a manner that aligns with our brand and core values.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or related field AND at least 7 years of work experience managing projects in the manufacturing or AEC industries OR high school diploma and at least 10 years of work experience managing large-scale, multidisciplinary projects in AEC industry.
Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams including internal and external design teams, to deliver complex projects (ideally, from design through manufacturing and delivery).
Experience generating, managing, and reporting project schedules and budgets.
Experience reviewing and managing complex client and subconsultant contracts.
Experience in identifying project risks including design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other project-specific issues.
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and commenting on project documentation (large multidisciplinary architectural and engineering drawing sets), procedure manuals, schedules, RFIs, etc.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
Experience with industry specific software and technology (e.g., SAP, BIM360, Smartsheet).
Ability to work independently and make significant project decisions.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with key stakeholders.
Strong sense of accountability and ownership for assigned tasks and deadlines.
Punctual and reliable in delivering work within agreed timelines.
Adaptable and proactive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
Experience managing 100+ unit multi-family residential projects from inception to delivery OR experience delivering customer projects in a discrete manufacturing environment.
Understanding of building codes, zoning regulations and permit processes.

Responsibilities

Lead strategic project assessments, including feasibility studies, site analysis, and early-stage concept development.
Translate client objectives into actionable strategies aligned with VBC’s business goals.
Advise executive teams on project planning, risk mitigation, delivery models, and change management.
Develop integrated plans covering scope, timeline, financials, resource allocation, and operational requirements.
Serve as a strategic advisor and primary point of contact for clients and senior stakeholders.
Build trusted, long-term relationships through clear communication, insight-driven recommendations, and proactive issue resolution.
Facilitate client workshops, executive briefings, and decision-making sessions throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide oversight and strategic direction across multiple large-scale initiatives.
Guide cross-functional managers, technical teams, and partners through complex project cycles.
Remove barriers, resolve escalations, and coordinate alignment between design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction operations.
Monitor KPIs and execution performance, presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Lead financial performance analysis, including budget evaluations, cash flow modeling, forecasting, and profitability assessments.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvement, and value engineering.
Support commercial strategy through contract review, negotiation insights, and risk assessments.
Mentor and develop project leadership talent across the organization.
Drive internal initiatives to improve project delivery, operational efficiency, and standardization of best practices.
Facilitate lessons-learned sessions and implement continuous improvement frameworks.
Champion communication, collaboration, and accountability across teams and departments.
