About The Position

Warfel Construction is looking for a Project Executive to join our team based in Delaware. This role provides executive oversight on the project level to ensure client satisfaction while establishing and leading a high performing Project Management Team, with defined responsibilities and direction. The Project Executive will communicate with the Client on a regular basis, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business in line with our Clients for Life mission.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of a four-year college degree majoring in construction management, engineering, architecture or similar program or similar related career experience.
  • 12+ years management experience or similar career experience.
  • Proven record of successfully managing projects consistent with those built by Warfel Construction Company.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • May need to occasionally move around the inside of the office to access file cabinets, manage copiers and other business materials, etc.
  • May also need to move throughout a construction jobsite with potentially uneven terrain.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, telephone, copy machine, or printer.
  • Frequently communicates with internal and external clients to exchange correct and accurate information.
  • Infrequent need to lift or move 5 to 25 lbs within an office environment.
  • Potential to lift up to 60 lbs (large set of drawings) on occasional basis.
  • Visits to jobsites may result in exposure to weather elements.

Responsibilities

  • Executive contact to the client from Preconstruction, as applicable, through the construction process.
  • Organize and lead a team of 3-5 Project Managers, provide direct oversight to their projects and take an active role in their development.
  • Establish team revenue and margin goals in alignment with Warfel strategic plan.
  • Assist Business Development & Work Acquisition teams to find new client relationships and project opportunities, as necessary, to ensure team revenue and margin goals are met.
  • Has strong planning ability to prepare and respond to RFPs (request for proposal) and RFQs (request for qualifications).
  • Strong ability to work with Preconstruction teams to prepare logistics plans, conceptual schedules and constructability reviews at varying stages of project design.
  • Assure projects are completed on time and on or under budget to ensure team revenue and margin goals are met.
  • Organize and lead multiple Project Teams.
  • Foster internal project team chemistry and relationship building.
  • Ability to effectively work through personnel conflict resolution, internally and externally.
  • Visits job sites as required.
  • Reviews job status against CPM schedule, quality control, and jobsite appearance.
  • Actively discusses job status with field supervisor.
  • Identifies inconsistencies between CPM schedule and construction progress, and reviews with field supervisor and project manager to implement a recovery plan if needed.
  • Actively discusses quality control with field supervisor.
  • Identifies potential issues, ensures the team has a recover plan in place for any quality control issues, and takes an active role in resolution of major quality control issues.
  • Proactively review project communication, schedule progression, change management, and team dynamics (internal and external) to identify and help eliminate potential client relationship issues.
  • Active involvement with project turnover and procurement process.
  • Responsible for ensuring procurement of key critical path trades and early packages to support project team and project success.
  • Review major project issues with the Operations Staff to assure Warfel’s best interests are being considered.
  • Active involvement with project completion process, ensuring project team completes punch list in a timely manner and all outstanding project items are completed on or before scheduled turnover to the client.
  • Attending Owner/Architect meetings as project and client relationship may require.
