POSITION SUMMARY Overall account and client executive, responsible for overall project success from date of award with little to no operational oversight. Leads large/multiple projects and teams, responsible for overall profitability, chargeability, team development and engagement. Leads the preconstruction process from start to finish. Assists in the development of proposals, interviews, and helps lead project pursuits. Responsible for maintaining existing client portfolio. Maintains industry network, participates in community, and professional associations. Accountable for implementation of company initiatives and growing company culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 15+ years’ experience.
  • Proficiency in/ability to learn Procore and Microsoft Project to manage all components of the project.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, preferably Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a leadership role on projects from start to finish.
  • Proven consistent track record of successful projects/project management.
  • Proven track record of superior budget management and accurate monthly cost projections.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop project schedules and manage from beginning to end.
  • Proven track record of proactive approach to problem resolution and issues management.
  • Demonstrated relationship skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage more than one project at a time.
  • Proficient in running project-related meetings, including Progress, OAC, and pre-installation meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Shares ownership of developing future operations leaders through direct leadership and coaching of project team associates, including Senior Project Managers.
  • Actively participates in enterprise succession planning, identifying and preparing talent for expanded leadership roles.
  • Builds leadership bench strength through strategic recruitment, active participation in the interview and selection process, and the development of effective operational leaders.
  • Sets expectations for leadership behavior, leadership presence, accountability, and performance.
  • Delegates work appropriately to leverage team effectiveness; prioritizes and balances strategic and immediate responsibilities.
  • Serves as the executive-level client leader for assigned projects or accounts, reinforcing trust, credibility, and long-term relationships.
  • Builds and maintains superior relationships with clients, design team, trade partners, and associates.
  • Partners with project teams to manage client expectations and proactively resolve escalated project issues.
  • Leads response and action planning related to client feedback or customer experience results.
  • Represents the company externally in industry, community, and professional settings in support of assigned accounts.
  • Develops and promotes a high performing team.
  • Responsible for setting up projects for success and develops preconstruction strategy to reduce risk and enhance overall profitability.
  • Leads and facilitates project set-up and planning processes, ensuring project teams apply established SOPs and escalate complexity or uncertainty as needed.
  • Consults with Senior Business Leadership on preconstruction issues that present elevated risk, financial exposure, or client impact, and acts as primary liaison with the client throughout the entire preconstruction process.
  • Ensures project teams develop complete and accurate procurement and submittal registers, identifying high risk and long lead items impacting the project's success.
  • Leads project teams in analyzing and developing risk mitigation plan(s) to minimize or eliminate project risk during the set-up and planning process.
  • Provides recommendations for project team structure based on size, complexity, and product type, assuring appropriate work allocation.
  • Oversees project teams to ensure all company procedures, processes, controls, and initiatives are adhered to, and intervenes when projects deviate materially from plan.
  • Sets strategy and expectations for logistics, self-perform, and Building Performance Solutions to maximize profitability, continuously reinforcing alignment with financial and execution objectives.
  • Mentors teams to ensure equipment utilization plans are complete, accurate, and implemented to maximize enhancements, and collaborates with the Logistics Center on purchase versus rental analysis for major equipment needs.
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of EREs, Projections, and Deep Dives prepared by project teams, and leads project performance across the safety never stops program, site specific QAQC program, and timely project closeout.
  • Leads by example and sets the tone ensuring safety is the highest priority; ensures company safety protocols are current and followed, that project teams receive trade partner safety requirements and plans prior to starting work, that High-Risk Activities are managed with proper safety plans, and takes overall responsibility for review of the Hazardous Building Material Survey(s).
  • Provides executive oversight of schedule management practices, reviewing schedule performance, milestone risks, and recovery options presented by project teams, and leads the change control process including impact analysis, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Leads enterprise level operational initiatives, organizational change efforts, and continuous improvement across the business.
  • Provides executive leadership for development, strategy, and execution of Project Financial Plans (PFPs) for assigned projects and ensures PFP expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Leads the development of the Go/No-Go, Risk Register, and Project Financial Plan, and reviews reconciliation of cost with the project management team monthly.
  • Holds overall responsibility for project team corrective measures to steer projects back into budget, for the Pay Application and Change Order Management processes, and for accurate financial cash flow and Work In Progress (WIP) forecasting.
  • Leads contract development with general counsel to secure favorable terms, and leads contract review with the project team to ensure understanding of contract risk, deliverables, and terms and conditions.
  • Ensures project teams have executed owner and trade partner contracts, COIs, and applicable trade partner safety items in place prior to starting any work, and that delay documentation processes are complete.
  • Ensures project specific risk mitigation plans are in place and adhered to, and addresses and manages resolution of complex and difficult situations with engagement from appropriate leadership.
  • Holds overall responsibility for ensuring projects are 100% financially complete, warranty established, and financially closed out.
  • Participates in the project pursuit process, engaging early and assisting in leading proposals and interviews.
  • Assists with RFPs/RFQs and provides support through the process, helping manage responses related to fees, schedule, and approach.
  • Enhances future business opportunities, including repeat work with existing clients, and supports account continuity.
  • Partners with the Senior Project Executive and Market Leadership on client strategy for assigned accounts.
  • Ensures project teams effectively support pursuits and contribute to client strategy sessions.
