Collect and review home floor plans from builders and electrical blueprints for upcoming projects Perform detailed material takeoffs based on construction drawings and specifications Prepare initial job pricing estimates within standard gross profit margin guidelines Work closely with the Senior Project Estimator to review estimates and confirm accuracy Maintain and update estimating spreadsheets, pricing templates, and cost databases Communicate with construction managers, sales, and other internal team members to clarify plans and scope of work Identify missing information or potential cost risks during the estimating process Assist in developing and improving estimating procedures and workflows Leverage new technology, software, and automation tools to improve efficiency and accuracy Support the CFO with reporting, cost analysis, and special projects as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrician or in the electrical field
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and electrical plans
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately
- Ability to follow standard pricing models and gross profit targets
- Willingness to create new processes and improve existing workflows
- Comfortable learning new software, systems, and technology tools
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with estimating, accounting, and operations teams
Responsibilities
