About The Position

Apex Companies is hiring a Project Environmental Scientist for its Environmental Team in the Glastonbury, Connecticut office. The role involves environmental field sampling, data collection and interpretation, and support for due diligence and regulatory reporting projects. The position offers opportunities to develop professionally while working with staff and management-level team members on field and reporting responsibilities across a variety of projects.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or another related field.
At least 2 years of experience with environmental field sampling and data collection, and familiarity with CTDEEP regulatory reporting.
Ability to multitask successfully.
Safety awareness and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
Valid driver's license, good driving history, and reliable transportation.
Strong communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Nice To Haves

40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
Light construction experience or hands-on skills.

Responsibilities

Collect soil, water, and/or air samples using different sampling techniques.
Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
Assist with due diligence (ASTM Phase I) projects.
Assist with reports based on Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations (RSR), Release-Based Cleanup Regulations (RBCRs), and the Property Transfer Program, including Completion of Investigations, Remedial Action Plans, Verifications, and Status Reports.
Develop career skills through field and reporting tasks.
Work directly with staff and management-level team members on field and reporting responsibilities.
