Summary: On a project basis, oversees the design and construction of facilities for the Bachoco USA division by supervising outside design and construction professionals. Achieves minimum cost, most efficient schedule, and maximum quality for each project by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Coordinates and directs design consultants and construction contractors in a team effort to construct new facilities and modify existing facilities. Monitors contractor/consultant performance with respect to cost, schedule, and quality on assigned projects. Informs upper management as to contractor/consultant progress and performance on projects. Bids, negotiates, and administers contracts. Resolves contract disputes with and between contractors. Prepares contract documents, bid documents, purchase orders, and change orders. Evaluate contractor bids and proposals and make recommendations to management. Reviews and approves design documents, drawings, specifications, calculations and fabrication drawings. Selects and recommends materials, products and equipment to be used or installed. Prepares budget estimates based on design documents for authorization for expenditure. Prepares conceptual estimates based on preliminary design information for evaluation of proposed projects. Review capital expenditure authorization forms prior to submittal for approval. This is a safety sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
  • Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of Design software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
