About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Program Engineering Manager II to lead the engineering effort for the Jama project. The role is responsible for ensuring the solution meets customer programmatic and technical requirements within allocated engineering cost and schedule, and for establishing Jama as a supported shared service for new and legacy programs. The manager will support Jama deployment by developing training and onboarding pathways, creating standardized templates and customizations, and preparing Development Work Environment (DWE), VC3, and classified environments. The work includes re-establishing core requirements management capabilities in Jama, including baselines, RVTM, verification linkage, change tracking, policies and procedures, and scripts to transition legacy programs. The position represents the technical team to program managers, functions, and executive leadership; develops the overall technical solution; and partners with the Program Manager and functional staff to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance goals. The role also oversees deployment planning, security and risk considerations, training and support for users across programs, and engineering performance metrics.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10 years of work experience, or equivalent experience.
Experience in project engineering management, including organizational design, planning, estimating, design management, and product verification.
Experience with Requirements Management and DOORS.

Responsibilities

Oversee integration of the Development Work Environment (DWE), preparation of VC3 and classified environments for Jama deployment, and the DOORS-to-Jama transition, including scripts and mapping attributes, views, and test cases.
Create and manage a detailed Jama deployment plan that considers impacts on current DOORS users and active and future programs.
Serve as the primary engineering contact for the project and regularly report status to the EOC, ELT, and ESLT.
Facilitate collaboration across disciplines and business areas.
Ensure the project roadmap aligns with the business’ Digital Engineering strategy and guide implementation accordingly.
Prioritize security requirements, business needs, and risk reduction throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead and manage the project team, fostering skill development and continuous improvement.
Partner with the Program Manager and functional staff to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance goals and deliver a Jama system that meets customer needs.
Ensure adequate training and support materials are provided to a substantial user base across programs.
Ensure proper process application based on project complexity and maintain metrics to track engineering performance.
