About The Position

This intern will learn about project management within Energy Supply. With oversight from experienced supervisors and mentors, interns may provide input for project design, coordinate resources for construction activities, update training materials for Base Capital, and develop technical expertise for project management for generation facilities. Intern will gain exposure to coal, simple cycle, combined cycle, hydroelectric, and/or wind site facilities and their operation. Requirements

  • Current student, Junior or higher (as of Fall 2027)
  • Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in BS Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering
  • Occasional day-trips to power plants within Colorado.
  • Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.

Responsibilities

  • Support management of existing capital projects
  • Develop relationships with plant personnel
  • Promote safety first for onsite activities related to capital projects
  • Red-line drawings for systems worked on through capital projects
  • Develop notifications, work orders, and purchase requisitions in SAP
  • Develop schedules for assigned projects
  • Lead project update meetings with mentorship and supervision
