About The Position
Assist lead Project Engineers with tasks related to the design, documentation, and/or programming and graphics of building automation systems (BASs). The intern will communicate proactively with the project team and may occasionally visit project sites to gather information for BAS designs.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering, HVAC Controls, or Construction Management.
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Valid and current driver's license and eligibility for coverage under the company's insurance carrier.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in construction, HVAC, and/or building automation.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, Access, and other Windows products.
- Experience with Microsoft Visio; other CAD software is acceptable.
- Ability to reliably report to the assigned work location.
- Ability to balance multiple concurrent priorities.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- Time-management skills, including estimating task completion time and delivering on committed timelines.
- Competent verbal and written communication skills, including translating technical information for technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist with design tasks for building automation systems.
- Assist with documentation of BAS designs, including submittals, and revision control of resulting documents.
- Assist with site-specific configuration of the WebCTRL system using SiteBuilder.
- Assist with programming control algorithms.
- Assist with developing graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems using Eikon and ViewBuilder.
- Assist with final BAS documentation incorporating changes made since the submittal was issued.
- Communicate clearly and proactively set expectations with the manager and internal project teams.
- Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Adhere to ethics standards and exemplify the Carrier code of ethics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
