About The Position

This role is responsible for developing accurate budgets for capital and field construction projects, managing these projects, and ensuring contractor performance meets safety, quality, and productivity metrics. The position involves the design and management of new plant installations and process improvement projects, as well as supporting critical plant maintenance projects. The Project Engineer must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, corporate, and contractors, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. A key aspect of the role includes reading blueprints and providing oversight for steel fabrication and erection, concrete installation (including experience with concrete forming systems), and detailed surveying. The use of AutoCAD software for plant design is also required. The position requires the ability to work in all weather conditions and some exposure to environmental elements common in mining operations. The role also includes performing all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mining engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience required

  • Manage contractor performance to safety, quality, and productivity metrics
  • Design and management of new plant installations and process improvement projects
  • Support of critical plant maintenance projects
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management, corporate and contractors
  • Manage multiple projects throughout the district simultaneously
  • Read blueprints and provide oversight for steel fabrication and erection, concrete installation including experience with concrete forming systems and detailed surveying skills
  • Work with AutoCAD software for plant design
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
