About The Position

Big-D Mission Critical is seeking a Project Engineer focused on the electrical scope of mission-critical data center construction projects. The position supports the planning, coordination, installation, commissioning, and turnover of electrical systems. Working with Project Managers, Superintendents, trade partners, and commissioning teams, the Project Engineer helps deliver electrical scopes safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and client requirements. The position is based in Reno, Nevada.

Requirements

• 1–5 years of experience in commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, medium-voltage distribution, and power monitoring systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical subcontractors, vendors, and field activities.
• Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and electrical system designs.
• Track project schedules, procurement, and installation progress.
• Support quality control inspections and issue resolution.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and change management.
• Coordinate equipment startup, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Manage project documentation, turnover packages, and as-built drawings.
• Participate in owner, subcontractor, and internal project meetings.
