The company fosters a collaborative and fast-paced environment that values initiative, ownership, and teamwork. A Project Engineer is sought to join the team in Vancouver. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient design, technical documentation, system configuration, testing support, customer communication, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAI/FAT) for projects in the Marine, rolling stock, and industrial sectors. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with customers, service engineers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery and high customer satisfaction. The role also involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing engineering projects to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and adhere to technical specifications.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical expertise relevant to the industry.
  • Previous experience in project management and project engineering.
  • Project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to address technical challenges and mitigate risks.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a global team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience working with ERP and CRM systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical and engineering aspects of projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and coordinate with project manager, customer or contractors to ensure alignment with objectives and project requirements.
  • Prepare project budgetary and detailed quotations in company’s CRM and ERP systems and submit to customers.
  • Prepare scope of supply, engineering designs, drawings, and specifications using CAD software or other tools, and provide technical guidance.
  • Prepare project costs, track expenditures, forecast budgets, and implement cost-control measures to optimize project profitability.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and ensure projects comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor project progress, and ensure efficient completion of project phases.
  • Maintain detailed project records, prepare reports, and communicate project status to customers and upper management.
  • Participate in commissioning of Fire detection, Gas detection and safety systems commissioning and handover processes on board vessels and ensure successful project completion.
  • Follow routines and processes within the Consilium Quality Management System, including quality, environmental, and health & safety procedures.
  • Provide sales and operational support through communication with customers, suppliers and other team members.
  • Assist in training co-workers and external customers when needed.
