About The Position

This role will assist the local project management staff with project oversight responsibilities. The Project Engineer (PE) will assist with the planning, estimating, procurement, execution and support of all assigned construction projects. The position will work with field supervisors and Contract Administration staff to coordinate job activities in support of the PM.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in business or construction management, or a related field. Experience (3-5 years min) in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Exposure, through internships, etc., to construction management, project management, or closely related activity.
  • Familiarity with project management technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, Procore and familiarity with modern construction industry software.
  • Able to adapt and change focus easily.
  • Detail oriented and has a drive to get things done.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality of Company and client information.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to review drawings and specifications.
  • Help identify long lead and critical path items.
  • Prepare and assist in meetings and inspections related to install preparation, initial work quality and accordance to contract.
  • Assistant the Superintendent with daily job site inspections to document ongoing work, prepare daily reports, and inspect ongoing work for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Develop and maintain the submittal log and obtain designers approval.
  • Help procure submittmittals and ensure all submittals are processed promptly.
  • Learn the craft of submittal review and specification conformity.
  • Ability to draft, submit, track and maintain Requests for Information log items - then distribute to appropriate parties once answered.
  • Review submittal and RFI logs weekly, time dependent on project, with the Superintendent and PM to determine priorities.
  • Obtain subcontractor pricing proposals and learn how to review the proposals for acceptance.
  • Review and phase code invoices as well as subcontractor requisitions.
  • Assist in managing the budget through tracking of subcontracts, cost projections, purchase orders, change orders and their approvals.
  • Assist the PM in Project Progress Schedule (P6) with development and monthly updating.
  • Maintain and update Punchlist log and follow up with subcontractors for completion of items.
  • Help procure, track and assemble documents for closeout of projects including final submittmittals, O&M manuals and releases.
  • Help prepare final closeout documentation materials.
  • Work alongside Contract Administration to maintain Lifecycle’s closeout procedures remains consistent throughout the company.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as business needs require.
  • Flexibility in work schedule – overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • Ability to travel within Company’s geographic market to visit construction projects and perform onsite inspections of project progress and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to be seated and use computer equipment for several hours per day.
