About The Position

Upchurch is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer to support commercial and industrial construction projects. The role assists the Project Manager and field teams with coordination, documentation, scheduling, procurement, and communication to help deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget. It offers an opportunity to develop a career in construction management and gain hands-on experience in project operations.

Requirements

Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to walk active construction job sites safely, climb stairs and ladders, navigate uneven terrain, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and work in various weather conditions when visiting job sites.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
1–3 years of construction experience.
Knowledge of commercial, industrial, or electrical construction projects.

Responsibilities

Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project operations.
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries.
Review and manage project drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs.
Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
Support budgeting, cost tracking, and change order management.
Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
Participate in project meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Assist with quality control and safety compliance efforts on job sites.
Help ensure projects are completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards.
Coordinate inspections, permits, and closeout documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
