About The Position

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer II to join our team in Portage, Michigan. This role is responsible for leading engineering projects from concept through implementation while supporting manufacturing operations, process improvements, tooling initiatives, and equipment planning. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related engineering or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience managing engineering or manufacturing-related projects in a production environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned engineering projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are successfully achieved.
  • Track project costs, resource allocation, and overall project performance.
  • Analyze new product and design proposals for manufacturability and compatibility with current manufacturing operations.
  • Develop cost estimates for prototype and production tooling, equipment, and manufacturing-related projects.
  • Monitor and control project-specific tooling and equipment budgets while providing regular status updates.
  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned customers and provide project development updates as needed.
  • Support the design and planning of future manufacturing layouts, process flow improvements, and product assembly strategies.
  • Research and evaluate manufacturing equipment and procurement options to support operational goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to drive project success.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity.
