About The Position

The Project Engineer reports to the Engineering Adhesives (EA) Global Process Engineering Manager and has primary responsibility for managing the timely execution within budget of high visibility complex projects to improve production, safety, and quality throughout the NA regional EA facilities to meet their objectives. This position can be located at one of our key manufacturing facilities (Frankfort, IL, Grand Rapids, MI, South Bend, IN, or Charlotte, NC)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing capacity with a proven track record of functional success.
  • Successful Project Management experience and oversight of multiple projects simultaneously valued at $100k+
  • Experience as a project or program lead with cross-functional background in operations, engineering, sourcing, materials.
  • Gantt chart experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically, and potentially some travel internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Process experience in a Chemical facility.
  • PMP certification or demonstrated capital project management experience for projects exceeding $500k.
  • Packaging expertise and automation experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Process Improvement in Lean, Six Sigma, RCCA, SWOT-Exercises, material flow, Theory of Constraints.
  • AutoCAD experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects through the full project lifecycle, utilizing the Corporate Capex and Stage-Gate process from concept to completion.
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, capital expenditure requests, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Prepare engineering specifications, bid packages, and project documentation in accordance with company standards and best practices.
  • Communicate project progress effectively and collaborate with Operations and cross-functional teams to minimize disruptions and maximize stakeholder alignment.
  • Review engineering drawings, evaluate equipment options, engage with suppliers, and identify innovative technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Drive process improvements by assessing automation opportunities and optimizing productivity, product quality, consistency, and cost performance.
  • Lead the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new manufacturing systems while ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and internal resources, including overseeing training and startup activities to ensure successful implementation of new equipment and processes.
