About The Position

The Project Engineer is a key contributor within the ITC Engineering Team, responsible for supporting and leading new product development initiatives from concept through production launch. This role provides technical and design ownership of assigned projects while coordinating cross-functional activities to ensure products are delivered on time, within cost targets, and in alignment with customer and organizational requirements. The Project Engineer works collaboratively with internal teams, global development partners, and external suppliers to successfully execute ITC’s New Product Development (NPD) process. Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ Project Management experience in New Product Development.
  • Strong in mechanical design and electro-mechanical packaging.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in mechanical design.
  • A BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience using structured project management tools.
  • Basic understanding of 3D CAD modeling in a parametric environment (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively with remote and international team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced product development environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in lighting a plus
  • Experience in UL, CSA, or equivalent a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and design ownership for assigned new product development projects from concept development through production launch.
  • Plan, manage, and track project tasks, timelines, risks, and key deliverables in accordance with the ITC New Product Development (NPD) process.
  • Develop and present project phase reviews, gate approval presentations, and technical updates to stakeholders to gain alignment and approval.
  • Collaborate closely with ITC’s Asia-based product development teams to communicate concepts, evaluate design alternatives, and refine designs to final approval.
  • Partner with Sales to support customer communications, technical inquiries, and commercialization activities as needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to define critical manufacturing parameters, reliability requirements, DFA/DFM considerations, and validation test plans.
  • Coordinate and participate in DFMEA activities, design reviews, and risk mitigation efforts with project stakeholders.
  • Support cost management activities by assisting with supplier quotations, cost modeling, and evaluation of Asia-sourced and local components to meet project cost targets.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvements and engineering changes within the existing ITC product portfolio.
  • Maintain accurate and complete project documentation, including design records, specifications, and change documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
