About The Position

MBG is seeking Project Engineers who are eager to learn the construction business, support strong field execution, and build a foundation for long-term growth in construction management. Project Engineers are expected to bring curiosity, organization, and follow-through to their roles, helping teams stay aligned, documentation stay clean, and projects move forward with confidence. This role is based in St. Louis and offers hands-on exposure to ground-up construction across multifamily, hospitality, senior living, and student housing, while working closely with experienced Project Managers and Superintendents. The Project Engineer supports the coordination and execution rhythm of assigned projects, ensuring documentation, information flow, and project controls are aligned. They are accountable for ensuring the right details are captured, shared, and tracked to enable informed decision-making and early obstacle removal.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of construction experience.
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting construction documents.
  • Comfortable writing clear correspondence and meeting notes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field teams, trade partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Procore and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively in active construction environments due to safety-sensitive nature and regular jobsite time.

Nice To Haves

  • A related degree is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
  • Hospitality and/or Multi-family project experience is helpful but not required.
  • OSHA 30hour and First Aid/CPR/AED are preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce field safety expectations and reporting standards.
  • Help identify and communicate risks early through documentation and coordination.
  • Support quality tracking and issue documentation.
  • Maintain a working understanding of drawings, specifications, and project scope.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute RFIs and submittals through Procore.
  • Maintain job files, as-builts, meeting minutes, and document control.
  • Upload and organize daily and weekly jobsite photos.
  • Track material approvals, deliveries, and procurement logs.
  • Inspect and verify material deliveries.
  • Assist with site logistics, badging, and coordination as assigned.
  • Support Superintendent teams with punch list tracking and follow-up.
  • Assist with quantity verification and cost tracking inputs.
  • Help prepare job progress reports.
  • Support change documentation and closeout tracking.
  • Support punch, O&M documentation, warranties, and training coordination.
  • Help drive organized, timely project closeout.
