About The Position

The Project Engineer is responsible for technical leadership of a project and supporting the Project Manager in managing the engineering team's performance concerning cost, schedule, and client satisfaction. This role operates under minimal supervision and involves coordinating with clients, project management teams, and various engineering disciplines to ensure project success. Key activities include managing engineering budgets and schedules, reporting on engineering status, planning and forecasting engineering resources, developing project-specific engineering procedures, and ensuring the timely completion and quality control of all multi-discipline deliverables.

Requirements

Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
5+ years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
Knowledge of the Hargrove project execution procedures.
Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
Knowledge and application of company engineering standards and project controls tools.
Ability to lead a team to deliver on commitments.
A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
Demonstrated proficiency in complex technical issues coordination and resolution.
Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.
Ability to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.

Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for projects and support the Project Manager in managing the engineering team's performance regarding cost, schedule, and client satisfaction.
Inform the Hargrove Project Manager of all technical issues, decisions, and problems encountered on the project.
Coordinate with the Client on technical design issues.
Coordinate with the Project Management Team (PM, Construction Manager, Procurement Manager, Quality Manager, and Project Controls Lead) on execution issues.
Support the PM in managing engineering budgets and schedules, and facilitate the identification, estimating, and documentation of scope changes.
Provide weekly and monthly reporting of engineering status and issues.
Plan, schedule, and forecast engineering resources with Project Discipline Leads and Department Resource Leaders.
Ensure discipline awareness of man-hours and estimate basis, as well as TIC estimate quantities, and track against these for scope change recognition.
Develop or facilitate the development of project-specific engineering and design procedures, including obtaining proper approvals if deviating from Client or Hargrove procedures.
Coordinate engineering input for documents defining project scope (e.g., Scope & Criteria documents, Engineering Execution Plans supporting the PEP).
Ensure timely completion of multi-Discipline deliverables including Line List, Equipment List, Area Classification Drawings, Post-IFD P&ID’s, and General Arrangement Drawings.
Lead Inter-Discipline coordination by resolving design issues among/between disciplines.
For 3D modeling projects, regularly review the model for timely inter-discipline coordination, loss prevention issues, clash detection resolution, and review all design deliverables for inter-discipline consistency and adequacy.
Approve transmittals prior to issue.
Ensure overall quality control of engineering work.
