About The Position

Structure Tone, part of the STO Building Group, is looking to add a Project Engineer for a project in Poughkeepsie. This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of building projects. The Project Engineer works closely with project managers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
0–5 years of experience in construction or engineering (entry to mid-level)
Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety practices
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience with construction software (e.g., Procore, AutoCAD, Bluebeam)
Understanding of scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project)
Knowledge of cost control and estimating
OSHA safety training (e.g., OSHA 10 or 30)

Responsibilities

Assist the Project Manager with daily project operations
Review project plans, drawings, and specifications for accuracy
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff
Track project schedules and help ensure deadlines are met
Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders
Monitor project costs and assist with budget tracking
Conduct site visits to ensure work aligns with plans and safety standards
Maintain project documentation and reports
Support quality control and compliance with building codes and regulations
Help resolve technical issues during construction
