About The Position

The Project Engineer is responsible for performing basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned. This role involves understanding and supporting the capital and non-capital project delivery process, helping to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business objectives, mill safety, reliability, and improvement efforts. The engineer will collaborate with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems, and prepare or assist in preparing reports, graphs, planning layouts, and summaries to communicate project progress or results. The position requires successfully performing non-complex and routine assignments while developing engineering fundamentals, and executing work in a manner consistent with safety procedures and practices with some guidance. Communication will involve utilizing basic tools like memos, email, and verbal updates on assignment progress when prompted. Developing relationships with teams and process areas is also a key aspect of this role, as is interacting with other mill departments such as Operations, Maintenance, and Purchasing to achieve assignment objectives.

Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with hourly employees, salaried leaders, vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
