About The Position

Urban Infraconstruction LLC is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team in Farmers Branch, TX. This role involves assisting the project team with overall responsibility for all aspects of the construction project. The Project Engineer will be involved in quantity verification, payment reconciliation, RFI and submittal correspondence, material delivery coordination, work plan creation and review, and schedule reviews and updates. This position offers the opportunity to learn the day-to-day operations and processes associated with project sites, assist with task and work plan meetings, and provide insight into the financial performance of projects. The role also includes managing project-specific and corporate safety plans, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications, performing change order management, and upholding quality and workmanship standards. Additionally, the Project Engineer will assist superintendents and crews with material ordering and quantity management, and coordinate suppliers and subcontractors for timely progression of work activities. Key tasks include creating and processing submittals and submittal logs, RFIs, and material delivery logs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or closely related field.
  • 1 year of experience as a project engineer or related in the construction industry.
  • Lead preconstruction planning and constructability reviews including value-engineering, sequencing, means & methods, and temporary works to reduce cost and schedule risk.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement and buyout: develop scopes of work, evaluate bids, negotiate terms, and finalize buyouts across multiple trades.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and payment reconciliation: update quantity takeoffs, prepare/verify pay applications, and reconcile pay items against production logs.
  • Manage submittals, RFIs and document control: create and track submittal logs, process RFIs from field to client, and maintain project documentation (submittals, RFIs, POs).
  • Cost control and change-order management: track progress vs. Construction pay items, prepare monthly cost/production reports, process change orders and manage pay apps/invoices.
  • Project scheduling & stakeholder coordination: prepare and update project schedules, coordinate field crews to meet milestones.
