About The Position

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and program management firm based in California. We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Gas sector. The Project Engineer supports the integrity management MAOP team by reviewing and confirming Gas utility projects are complying with the Federal code of regulations. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, reviewing engineering plans, construction sketches, as-builts and engineering plans ensuring compliance with company standards. The engineer contributes to project success through validation and confirmation of project requirements meeting TVC standards. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to grow within a dynamic utility environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of gas utilities project support and/or engineering experience required
  • Experience with MAOP verification, pipeline pressure calculations, pipeline integrity programs and/or package closeout required
  • Experience with 49 CFR Part 192, ASME B31.8, and gas pipeline design standards
  • Experience reviewing pipeline records, pressure test data, and material specifications used in MAOP determination
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Teams and Access
  • Experience working on multi‑discipline gas pipeline projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship
  • Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering designs and packages for gas utility projects ensuring designs meet MAOP requirements, gas industry standards, company policies and Federal code of regulation 192.619.
  • Apply technical expertise to resolve engineering issues related to pipeline pressure ratings, material properties, class location, and stationing.
  • Support MAOP reconfirmation activities by reviewing historical records, verifying traceable, verifiable, and complete (TVC) documentation, and identifying gaps requiring engineering assessment.
  • Analyze pipeline segments to evaluate HCA/MCA impacts on design, operating pressures, and MAOP requirements, incorporating class location, population density, and environmental risk factors into engineering assessments.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and design packages to ensure pressure‑containing components meet B31.8 and 49 CFR 192 requirements for MAOP.
  • Assist with evaluating pressure test records, material strength data, and pipeline attributes used to establish or validate MAOP.
  • Coordinate with integrity, compliance, and operations teams to support MAOP‑related field investigations, pipeline surveys, and data collection.
  • Participate in technical meetings and contribute to updates of standards and procedures related to MAOP and integrity management.
  • Interact with client to understand project needs, communicate MAOP‑related requirements, and ensure engineering procedures are followed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
