About The Position

Traylor Bros., Inc. (TBI) is seeking a Project Engineer for its National Heavy Civil division, which provides heavy civil and underground construction services using traditional and non-traditional delivery methods. The division has completed more than 135 complex bridge construction and rehabilitation projects and has built deepwater container piers, wharf facilities, transit terminals, locks, and dams. The Project Engineer manages daily project operations, including staff, and plans, directs, and coordinates project activities to achieve objectives within the prescribed schedule and budget. The role includes responsibility for project safety, performance, budgeting, scheduling, equipment management, and quality, as well as leading the project team and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. The position may require travel for meetings, site visits, training, and other needs, as well as relocation.

Responsibilities

Review project proposals or plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources.
Confer with project staff to outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
Direct and coordinate project personnel to keep work on schedule and within budget.
Review status reports and modify schedules or plans as needed.
Prepare project reports for management, clients, or others.
Provide technical advice to project personnel and help resolve problems.
Coordinate project activities with Traylor personnel and joint venture partners.
Direct, coordinate, and evaluate the project, including safety, performance, budget, scheduling, equipment management, and quality.
Lead the project team.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Work with and participate in estimating departments during project procurement phases.
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management.
Travel as required for meetings, site visits, training, and other activities.
Relocate as needed.
