About The Position

UniFirst Corporation is seeking to add a full time Project Engineer to our growing Engineering Department. In this role you will join a growing team where you will collaborate with a wide range of intelligent, dynamic colleagues. As a Project Engineer, you will plan and coordinate technical engineering initiatives ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule and within budget. Additionally, you will take corrective action to resolve operational challenges and minimize delays by identifying necessary resources for a successful project completion.

Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of experience interacting with multiple departments in a production environment with a focus on project management.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Monday.com or similar project management software for collaboration and time management.
  • Experience with inventory control and material procurement for multiple projects.
  • Ability to read and understand wiring schematics with troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD plant layouts and electrical schematics.
  • Willingness to work beyond core business hours to minimize business interruption during planned or unplanned system modifications.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (ie. Excel, Word, and Outlook) is preferred.
  • Travel up to 75%
  • Successful completion of drug screen and background check is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Software (MS Project, Monday.com, etc.)
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Maple Systems HMIs.
  • Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing workplace.
  • Successful experience working in a dynamic, fast paced environment with a strong focus on customer service and personal growth.
  • Experience writing queries in MS SQL.
  • Networking experience including - Ethernet/IP.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and delegate tasks to contractors as needed.
  • Document and report project progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure clarification and specific requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Validate equipment integrations, wiring and overall work to ensure compliance with UniFirst quality and safety standards.
  • Track performance and analyze the completion of defined key goals.
  • Update plant drawings in AutoCAD as needed.
  • Procure required material in a timely manner to avoid project delays.
  • Maintain budgets and adjust according to needs as they arise.
